Keepsake Safety Disclaimer, Testing and Certification.

  • I am a registered sole trader under HMRC guidelines with a UTR.

Important Safety Information:

All keepsake items are handmade memory pieces created from sentimental clothing supplied by the customer. These items are intended for display and admiration only and are not designed, manufactured, or sold as toys.

In accordance with the definition of a toy under the Toys (Safety) Regulations 2011, a toy is defined as “any product designed or intended, whether or not exclusively, for use in play by children under 14 years of age.”

My keepsakes have not undergone external toy safety testing by the UKCA/CE as it is not required for display keepsake items under UK guidelines and regulations. This would only be the case if it were classified as a toy. My keepsakes are created from sentimental clothing and are designed to be memory items for display and preservation, rather than products intended for children's play.

Disclaimer:

My keepsakes are not intended for play and therefore fall outside of this classification.

Please note that keepsake items may include small components such as safety eyes, buttons, or decorative features, which could present a choking hazard if detached. For this reason:

  • Items should be used for display purposes only
  •  They should not be given to children as toys
  • They should not be left unattended with babies or young children
  • Owners are responsible for regularly checking the item for wear or damage over time
  • Items may contain small components such as safety eyes or decorative features. Monitor for any wear/tear or general deterioration.
  • They should not be left unsupervised with children.
  • They are not to be used by persons under the age of 16.

By purchasing a keepsake item, you acknowledge all the above and that it is a decorative memory piece rather than a play item and accept responsibility for its safe display and care. You acknowledge this by selecting “Yes” during purchase of the keepsake.
